25th and 26th of September 2004

After the success of last year's event we decided to do it again.     So we Reanimated PartyCon and had just as much fun as we had last year.

Saturday morning saw the setting up of the Altar of Tech, without this no convention can happen.    Cameron aka Supertech and the High Priest of Tech can be seen behind the altar in some of the photos on the photo page.  Doc can also been seen making offerings, we don't know what he offered, but there was obviously some kind of problem since our only technical glitch came during the quiz which Doc had set up.  He needs to make better offerings next year.

There were two quizzes one for teams and one for individuals, you can read a report on the quizzes if you follow the quiz link.  The fancy dress was poorly entered  this year we only had one entrant, but what and entrant and therefore also the winner.  Jimmy McPaul, without whom no convention would be complete.

There was also an art project this year, which was based around What happened Next to Angel.   We shall be putting the results up as soon as we can get them onto the computer.

Sunday evening saw the Dead Dog party, which has become very popular, mainly due to it's relaxed atmosphere.  You don't have to dress up just come along and have fun.    This year saw the formation of Dead Jedi Appreciation Society.   This occurred during a late night session of listening to the Doors while lying on the floor.   See Doc for further details, he says that all you need to belong the Society is be a Jedi, since you will most certainly become a Dead Jedi one day, it all made perfect sense at the time.    This society will be paying us a return visit in 2005.

Check out the photos and the quiz report and look out for the art project in the near future.

QUIZ

There was a very high standard in both the individual and team quizzes, so for all everyone was complaining about how hard the questions were, either you had all been studying hard or they were actually too easy.

The team quiz this year was done by selecting team of four players drawn at random, this threw together some unusual teams, and made for some fun moments.  We also attempted to put the quiz up on the screen, this was only a partial success as very few people could actually read it and meant we had to read out the questions anyway.    It also meant a great deal of exercise for those who chose to get up and walk to the screen every question.

Both of the quizzes were done in the same manner.   Ten rounds of five questions on varying subjects, from Buffy to Gerry Anderson, this year we included a literature round, which scored highly.   We also included a round of some questions from last year, which we shall keep asking until you get them right.
